Payment Gateways in Pakistan: WhatsApp Payment Links with On Cloud API
Transfer to Pay now integrates with On Cloud API for WhatsApp payment links and bank-transfer verification in Pakistan. Our roadmap also includes integrations with JazzCash, Easypaisa, PayPro, PayFast, Swich and Safepay. The goal is to connect payment requests, reminders and confirmation messages through the WhatsApp Business API, with each gateway connection released as it becomes available.
A customer agrees to buy in a WhatsApp conversation, makes a bank transfer and sends a message: "Have you received it?" Your team then needs to check the incoming payment, find the right order and reply.
The new Transfer to Pay integration connects those steps. It gives businesses a way to bring payment requests, verification and customer updates into the same order journey, with fewer manual handoffs between sales and billing.
If you are choosing a payment gateway in Pakistan, checkout methods are only one part of the decision. You also need a clear way to send the payment request, recognise the result and tell the customer what happens next. That is where payment automation and WhatsApp messaging work together.
Available now: Transfer to Pay integration for payment-link messaging and supported bank-transfer verification workflows.
Planned integrations: The six payment gateway connections listed below are on On Cloud API's roadmap. Launch dates and supported features will be announced separately.
How does a payment gateway work with the WhatsApp Business API?
An online payment gateway helps a business accept payments through the methods enabled for its merchant account, such as cards, wallets or bank payments. The WhatsApp Business API handles the customer communication around that transaction.
For example, a connected business system can create a payment request, send its checkout link on WhatsApp, receive the payment provider's result and trigger an appropriate customer update. On Cloud API supplies the messaging and automation tools. The receiving bank, wallet or gateway handles its part of the payment process.
This distinction matters when looking for a WhatsApp payment gateway integration in Pakistan: sending a link and automatically reconciling a completed payment require different capabilities. A complete workflow needs both the payment connection and a reliable way to act on the result.
Payment gateways in Pakistan: JazzCash, Easypaisa and other options
The following providers offer payment services relevant to Pakistani businesses. Their existing products explain the payment side of the proposed integrations. Every On Cloud API gateway connection in this table is planned. Merchant access, available payment methods and the final automation features will depend on the provider and the released connector.
| Provider | Existing payment capabilities | Planned On Cloud API use |
|---|---|---|
| JazzCash Payment Gateway | Merchant checkout with mobile-account, card and voucher payment options, depending on the setup. | Send the payment request on WhatsApp and use a confirmed transaction result for customer notifications. |
| Easypaisa Online Payment Gateway | Online merchant payments through Easypaisa mobile accounts and supported over-the-counter payment flows. | Connect payment requests and status updates with WhatsApp order and invoice messages. |
| PayPro Payment Gateway | Payment collection through cards, digital banking, wallets and over-the-counter channels, with APIs and ecommerce integration options. | Link an invoice or order to a payment request and send a confirmation after the payment result is verified. |
| PayFast Payment Gateway | Online checkout and shareable payment links, with supported bank-account, card, wallet and Raast options. | Deliver payment links and connect supported payment events to customer messages and order updates. |
| Swich Payment Gateway | A Numbers Pvt Ltd brand offering payment collection across wallets, cards, bank transfers and Raast QR, alongside payment links and invoices. | Bring supported collection events into WhatsApp payment requests, reminders and confirmation workflows. |
| Safepay Payment Gateway | Hosted checkout and payment links that can be created through its dashboard or API and shared through channels including WhatsApp. | Send the checkout link through On Cloud API and trigger relevant messages from verified payment events. |
On Cloud API plans to add these connections for businesses that want to use their payment provider alongside WhatsApp automation. Individual launches will confirm access requirements and supported actions; listing a provider here does not announce a completed partnership or an available connector.
Which payment gateway should you choose in Pakistan?
Start with how your customers pay. A business collecting bank transfers has different requirements from a store accepting card payments or a service provider issuing recurring invoices. Compare the provider's current offering against your actual checkout and billing process.
- Payment methods: check which cards, wallets, bank-payment options or vouchers are enabled for your merchant account.
- Website and billing fit: confirm support for your store, invoice system, payment links or custom API integration.
- Payment results: check whether the provider exposes the status updates your automation needs.
- Total cost: compare current processing charges, subscriptions, setup costs and applicable taxes for your business.
- Settlement and refunds: understand when funds reach your account and how refund requests are handled.
When adding WhatsApp payment automation, also confirm whether your chosen On Cloud API connector has launched. Being able to share a provider's payment URL does not automatically mean its payment status is connected to your messaging workflow.
WhatsApp Pay in Pakistan: payment links and customer updates
For these integrations, WhatsApp payments means sending payment links and transaction updates through the official WhatsApp Business API. The customer follows the link and completes the payment through the provider's checkout or the bank-transfer instructions.
The roadmap covers gateway connections and payment messaging. It does not announce the availability of Meta's native in-chat WhatsApp Pay service in Pakistan. Customer authentication, payment processing and settlement follow the relevant provider's payment flow.
Transfer to Pay is now integrated with On Cloud API
Transfer to Pay creates payment requests and matches compatible transaction SMS received on an authorized Android phone to the relevant order or invoice. On Cloud API provides the WhatsApp messaging connection, allowing businesses to send the payment link and build follow-up messages around the payment result.
On Cloud API is a Meta Verified Tech Provider offering access to the official WhatsApp Cloud API, together with a shared team inbox, templates and automation tools. The integration connects these communication tools with Transfer to Pay's bank-transfer verification workflow.
| Part | Role |
|---|---|
| Transfer to Pay | Creates the payment request, matches the transaction and provides the payment result. |
| On Cloud API | Delivers WhatsApp messages and supports customer conversations and configured automations. |
| Your receiving account | Receives the customer's bank or supported wallet transfer. |
| Your store or billing system | Uses the payment result to update the order, invoice or service when connected. |
How WhatsApp payment links and verification work together
1. Create a payment request for an order or invoice
Start with an amount, an order or invoice reference, and the customer's details. Transfer to Pay creates the payment request and its link. A consistent reference helps your team connect the payment to the correct purchase.
2. Send the payment link through On Cloud API
The customer receives the link from your connected WhatsApp Business API number. The message can explain what the payment is for and how much is due. This gives the customer a clear next step in the conversation where the sale or billing discussion is already happening.
3. The customer completes the bank transfer
The customer opens the payment request and follows the displayed instructions to pay your configured receiving account. They complete the transfer through their bank or supported wallet. Opening the link or replying "paid" should not, by itself, mark the invoice as paid.
4. Transfer to Pay matches the transaction
When the compatible transaction SMS reaches your authorized Android device, Transfer to Pay uses the payment details to match it to the request. A successful match can provide the payment event needed by your connected system.
If the notification is delayed, the amount does not match, or the payment cannot be connected confidently to an order, keep it pending for review. Verification depends on the supported message format, device connectivity and matching information.
5. Continue the customer's order or service workflow
Once the payment has been matched, a configured workflow can send a WhatsApp confirmation, update an invoice or pass the order to the next fulfilment step. These actions depend on the integration and rules enabled in your account.
Automated WhatsApp payment messages: requests, reminders and receipts
The planned gateway integrations are intended to connect payment events with useful customer messages. Available triggers will be confirmed for each connector when it launches. The Transfer to Pay workflow already provides the starting point for payment-link messaging and matched-payment follow-up.
| Payment event or condition | WhatsApp message | What the workflow must check |
|---|---|---|
| Order or invoice created | Payment request with the amount, reference and payment link. | The request belongs to the intended customer. |
| Payment remains due | A relevant payment reminder. | The invoice is still unpaid and the customer may receive the message. |
| Payment successfully completed | Payment confirmation or receipt message. | The provider's result is verified and meets the order's payment requirements. |
| Partial payment received | Received amount and remaining balance. | The provider and connector support partial-payment tracking. |
| Payment failed or request expired | A status update and an appropriate next step. | The provider has reported that status; a pending payment is not treated as failed. |
| Refund completed | A refund confirmation. | A supported provider event confirms completion, rather than only a refund request. |
An ecommerce store could use a successful payment result to update an order and send a confirmation. A hosting business could connect a paid renewal invoice to its service workflow. A school could acknowledge a matched fee payment. These actions depend on the released integration and the rules your business enables.
How payment webhooks connect to WhatsApp automation
A webhook is a server notification that can tell a connected system when a payment status changes. Where supported, the integration can use that event to update an invoice and trigger an On Cloud API message.
Your implementation should verify the notification, match the amount, currency and order reference, and prevent duplicate processing. Keep payment status separate from message delivery status: a WhatsApp message marked "delivered" confirms delivery of the message, not receipt of the customer's money.
Example: one invoice, two payments, clear updates
Imagine an online store issuing an invoice for PKR 12,500. The customer pays a PKR 5,000 deposit first and settles the balance later. Transfer to Pay's partial-payment support lets the workflow distinguish an initial payment from a fully paid invoice.
| Event | Total received | Remaining | Appropriate update |
|---|---|---|---|
| Invoice created | PKR 0 | PKR 12,500 | Send the payment request. |
| Deposit matched | PKR 5,000 | PKR 7,500 | Acknowledge the partial payment. |
| Balance matched | PKR 12,500 | PKR 0 | Confirm full payment and follow the fulfilment rule. |
For a business that dispatches only after full payment, the final confirmation should follow the matched balance payment. A deposit message should make the outstanding amount clear.

Where the integration can help Pakistani businesses
The workflow is useful when the customer conversation happens on WhatsApp and payment arrives through a bank or supported wallet transfer.
- Online stores: send a payment link for a prepaid order or an agreed deposit, then use the matched payment to continue processing.
- Schools and training businesses: connect an individual fee invoice with a payment request and a relevant receipt message.
- Hosting and subscription businesses: link a renewal invoice to the payment result before the configured service action runs.
- Agencies and service providers: keep project deposits and remaining balances tied to the same invoice reference.
Transfer to Pay supports payment-link, WooCommerce, WHMCS and custom API workflows. The exact order updates and WhatsApp triggers depend on the connection you configure. Start with one payment journey and test it from invoice creation through confirmation.
What you need before enabling the workflow
You will need an active Transfer to Pay account, an active On Cloud API subscription with a connected WhatsApp Business API number, and a supported receiving account. The SMS verification flow also needs an authorized Android device that receives compatible transaction messages and can stay connected.
If you are setting up the messaging side for the first time, explore On Cloud API's WhatsApp Business API platform in Pakistan. Prepare your invoice references, customer contact details and the actions you want to run after a payment is matched.
Before enabling automatic fulfilment, test a successful payment, a partial payment and a payment that needs manual review. Make sure a repeated event cannot cause the same order to be fulfilled twice.
Customer permission and WhatsApp templates still matter
Collect the customer's permission to receive messages from your business and respect opt-out requests. Outside the 24-hour customer service window, WhatsApp Business Platform messages must use approved templates. Each new customer message opens or resets that window.
Transaction-specific confirmations and payment reminders may qualify as utility message templates when they meet Meta's category rules. Keep promotional offers out of a transactional update; Meta determines the final category and approval. Give customers a clear way to contact your team when a payment needs help.
Banking OTPs stay outside payment matching
Transfer to Pay's Android app is designed to process payment-related transaction SMS for verification. Banking OTPs, verification codes, login-security messages and personal SMS are excluded from the payment-matching workflow.
Customers should complete any authentication required by their bank inside the bank's own payment process. They do not need to send a banking OTP in your WhatsApp conversation for this integration to match a payment.
How do the costs work?
Transfer to Pay uses subscription pricing without its own percentage platform fee on each verified payment. Your selected plan and any bank or wallet charges still matter.
Each payment gateway sets its own merchant pricing and payment terms. Compare the current quote for your payment methods and transaction volume. Transfer to Pay's pricing model should not be applied to those providers.
On Cloud API has its own platform subscription and applies 0% markup to Meta's messaging rates. Applicable WhatsApp message charges remain separate from payment-verification costs. Check the current plans and message rates when estimating the total for your workflow.
Frequently asked questions
Which payment gateways are on On Cloud API's Pakistan roadmap?
Planned integrations include JazzCash, Easypaisa, PayPro, PayFast, Swich and Safepay. They are intended for WhatsApp payment links, automation and transaction messages. Release dates and connector-specific features have not been announced here.
Are JazzCash and Easypaisa already integrated with On Cloud API?
Direct JazzCash and Easypaisa gateway connectors are planned under this roadmap. The integration announced as available in this update is Transfer to Pay. Accepting a wallet transfer through a supported verification flow is a separate capability from a direct gateway API integration.
Can a payment gateway send WhatsApp messages automatically?
A connected business system can use the gateway's verified payment result to trigger a message through the WhatsApp Business API. It needs an active messaging setup, a supported payment connection and the appropriate customer permission and message template.
Is On Cloud API a payment gateway in Pakistan?
On Cloud API is a WhatsApp Business API platform and Meta Verified Tech Provider. It provides messaging, a shared inbox and automation. Transfer to Pay handles its payment-verification workflow, while each future gateway will provide its own payment service.
What is the best payment gateway for WhatsApp payments in Pakistan?
The right choice depends on your customers' payment methods, merchant eligibility, checkout needs, provider charges and available integrations. Compare those requirements first, then confirm how payment requests and results will connect with your WhatsApp workflow.
Can I automatically send a Transfer to Pay link on WhatsApp?
Yes. With the integration connected and the appropriate workflow enabled, On Cloud API can send the Transfer to Pay payment link through your WhatsApp Business API number. Customer permission and the relevant template or service-window rules apply.
Does the customer complete the bank transfer inside WhatsApp?
The WhatsApp message delivers the payment link and updates. The customer opens the request and completes the transfer using the payment instructions and their bank or supported wallet. The transfer goes to your configured receiving account.
Can it send an automatic payment confirmation?
A matched payment event can trigger a confirmation through a configured On Cloud API workflow. Set the trigger to the verified payment result so the message reflects the actual invoice status.
What happens if a customer pays only part of the invoice?
Transfer to Pay supports partial payments. Your workflow can acknowledge the received amount and state the remaining balance. Only send a fully paid confirmation when the invoice's payment requirements have been met.
Do I need a website to send a payment link?
You can create and share a standalone payment link without an ecommerce website. An integrated store or billing system is needed when you want its records or fulfilment actions to update automatically.
What if the bank's transaction SMS arrives late?
The automated match may also be delayed. Check device connectivity and the transaction in your receiving account, then review the payment against the correct invoice. Avoid confirming an unverified payment simply because the customer has sent a screenshot.
